At about 200m from Via Cassia, Bagno Vignoni has a very antique history as a termal resort.
Spring water has been used since ancient times. Roman inscriptions around Bagno Vignoni are testimony of this: one of them, at the end of the termal baths'lower edge, says "the sacred waters of the ninphs".
