The Bagno Vignoni waters that were “sacred to the Naiads” have been known since Roman times and over the centuries many celebrities have stayed at this small hamlet to enjoy its benefits.

The Val di Sole [Sunny Valley] thermal water swimming pool was inaugurated in July 1973, the first facility in the district to use the beneficial water of Bagno Vignoni. Looking out over the Val d’Orcia panorama, opposite the spectacular Rocca di Tentennano, for almost 40 years it has bestowed upon bathers the gift of being able to relax and contemplate in perfect wellbeing. The large pool was dug out of a travertine spur, and is divided into two parts to obtain different water levels and temperatures. The water arrives untreated directly from the main spring. The pool scenario is rounded off by a large park in which flowering shrubs and tall trees have been planted to offer you shady and peaceful surroundings during the summer season. |

The warm thermal water gushes out from the spring at a temperature of 49°C and it reaches the pool at a temperature of 43/45°C. In the first pool the temperature is a stable 35-38°C, whereas in the second one it lies between 28-32°C. Since the pool is an open-air facility, climatic conditions can naturally have an effect on water temperature stability. |

This water has numerous properties (it is bicarbonate, sulphate, alkaline and earthy, hyper-thermal, and contains calcium carbonate, iron and zinc) and is indicated above all for arthritis, rheumatism, and the after effects of fractures. |

The Val di Sole thermal water swimming pool is open all the year round, and, during summer weekends, even at night, so that you can experience the magic of swimming under the stars. The facility is also open to the general public, but with reduced opening hours compared to those for hotel guests. |
